Minnesota Power is seeking proposals for up to 400 megawatts of wind energy
Minnesota Power, a utility division of ALLETE Inc. is submitting a Request for Proposals (RFP) for up to 400 megawatts of wind energy located in MISO Local Resource Zone 1 to come online by 2027 that can provide customers with reliable energy that will help the company and state meet carbon free goals in the coming decades. Proposals are due by 5 p.m. CST on Thursday, April 11, 2024.
This request is part of Minnesota Power’s EnergyForward vision and bold next steps for a sustainable path to a carbon-free energy future that is centered on Minnesota Power’s commitment to the climate, customers, and communities.
The RFP strives to maximize customer and transmission resource benefits including preferences for wind projects using diverse bidders and domestically sourced materials, and requirements for using local prevailing, wage, local labor for construction and permanent staffing, and the development of apprenticeship programs.

Minnesota Power will be holding a webinar at 10 a.m. CST on March 7, 2024. This will be an opportunity for bidders to ask questions related to the Minnesota Power 2024 Solar RFP.
