NAEMA’s 2021 Board of Directors election concluded on April 30, 2021. Six (6) of the twelve (12) Board positions were up for election for a two (2) year term, starting May 2, 2021.
I am very pleased to announce that the following candidates were elected:
- Dean Akey (NAEMA Board Secretary); Clone Capital, LLC
- Jay Alexander (NAEMA Board Vice President); TransAlta Energy Marketing
- Vince Findley; AEP Energy Partners
- Joni Hamson; EDF Renewables
- Chamroeun (Cham) Kong; ACES Power
- Jim Richardson (NAEMA Board President); Avant Energy, Inc.
Dean Akey will join the Board as NAEMA’s first Independent Director.

I would also like to recognize Kristen Gamache (Enel Trading) who chose to not run for re-election to the Board. Kristen was a valuable member of the NAEMA Board for multiple terms and consistently provided fresh perspectives on how NAEMA can best serve its membership. On behalf of NAEMA’s Board and membership, I would like to recognize and thank Kristen for her many contributions.
