ACES is conducting a request for proposals (RFP) for Firm Load-Following Power Supply on behalf of Central Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. (Central).
Central is a nonprofit generation and transmission electric cooperative, headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina. Central provides all-requirements power supply to South Carolina’s 20 retail electric cooperatives, who serve approximately 1.5 million consumers. Central’s member retail distribution cooperatives serve consumers in all 46 South Carolina counties.
The purpose of this RFP is for Central to identify potential power supply options for wholesale electric service with an annual peak load of approximately 60 MW of capacity and energy (and associated growth) for delivery to the Dominion Energy South Carolina transmission system. Central will consider contractual terms, commensurate with the volume of capacity and energy proposed, ranging from 5 to 15 years in length. Supply would begin January 1, 2025.
