TEA/LUS RFP for Solar Energy Resources

Published:December 13, 2023

NAEMA is pleased to announce this RFP for our member The Energy Authority (TEA) and their client the Lafayette Utility System.

Lafayette Utilities System (LUS) is a city-owned utility system in Lafayette, Louisiana. LUS provides electric, water, and wastewater services within its territory.

This RFP is a result of LUS’s recent Integrated Resource Plan and long-term vision. The IRP evaluated all resource types including wind, solar, and thermal. While LUS is open to all renewable energy types, the final recommendation indicated a strong preference for PV Solar due to the coincident value of solar energy to mitigate peak hour pricing volatility and diversify energy supply making it the most preferred renewable energy resource for this request.

As a trusted public power affiliate, The Energy Authority (TEA) is the administrator for this Request for Proposals (RFP).
