The North American Energy Markets Association is posting this RFP on behalf of our member ACES and their client CoServ.
On behalf of CoServ Electric, ACES is soliciting proposals for physically backed, reliable, dispatchable, and economically competitive power to supply long-term energy to its customers. CoServ requests proposals from suppliers capable of providing energy from dispatchable physical resources (excluding renewables and energy storage).
CoServ Electric (CoServ) is an electric distribution company with a peak electric demand of almost 2,000 MW. Serving the residents and businesses of North Texas, CoServ was incorporated as Denton County Electric Cooperative in 1937 and has been doing business as CoServ Electric since 1998. The second largest electric cooperative in Texas, CoServ has over 13,400 miles of electric infrastructure serving more than 332,000 meters across Denton, Collin, Cooke, Grayson, Tarrant, and Wise counties. CoServ’s natural gas affiliate, CoServ Gas, was established in 1998 and serves more than 170,000 gas meters in Denton, Collin, and Kaufman counties.
The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit and procure future power supply in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) Market. The results obtained from this RFP will identify the possible future power supply options for CoServ to serve load in ERCOT from physical resources.
