The North American Energy Markets Association is posting this RFP on behalf of our member Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc.
Associated Electric Cooperative Incorporated (AECI) is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit offers from interested parties for 450 MW to 900 MW of firm electric generation capacity and associated energy from dispatchable generation resources with firm physical delivery to the AECI transmission system. AECI is seeking proposals for approximately 450 MW of dispatchable capacity and energy resources with an in-service date no later than December 1, 2030, and an additional 450 MW by December 1, 2031.
All information regarding the RFP and all related documents along with any relevant instructions are available on the RFP Website (https://aecirfp2026.rfpmanager.biz/). AECI has retained the services of an independent third-party consultant, 1898 & Co., a part of Burns & McDonnell Engineering Co. Inc., to support various aspects related to this RFP process. However, AECI will make the final decisions regarding this RFP at its sole discretion. You are requested to directly interface with 1898 & Co. via the RFP Website for all communications related to this RFP, including any questions, RFP clarification issues, and proposal submittal. Prospective respondents are required to execute the Confidential Non-Disclosure Agreement (CNDA) by May 4, 2026 at 5:00 PM available on the RFP Website prior to receiving access to the RFP documents. AECI encourages prospective respondents to sign the CNDA as it exists, however, should respondents request minor redlines to the CNDA, AECI will review the proposed changes and respond accordingly. The schedule below represents the expected timeline for conducting this RFP solicitation. However, AECI may modify this schedule during the RFP process and Respondents will be notified.
