The below RFP information is posted on behalf of Northern Indiana Public Service Company.
Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) intends to conduct three Requests for Proposals (RFPs) covering all-sources to help inform long-term market planning and identify potential projects for transaction.
NIPSCO will be seeking proposals in three areas: 1) solar and solar paired with storage; 2) wind and wind paired with storage; and/or 3) thermal, standalone storage, emerging technologies, and other capacity resources. The total anticipated range across all three events is 400 – 650 megawatts (“MW”) of Unforced Capacity (UCAP). NIPSCO reserves the right to transact more or less than the referenced target.
NIPSCO will seek to satisfy its capacity needs through proposals for asset sales or power purchase agreements (“PPA”) for delivery beginning in 2024, 2025, and 2026.
NIPSCO does business in the State of Indiana as a regulated public utility generating, transmitting and distributing electricity for sale in Indiana and the broader Midcontinent Independent System Operator, Inc. (“MISO”) regional electricity market. NIPSCO serves approximately 468,000 electric customers in northern Indiana.

On Thursday, May 20, 2021 between 9 AM and 2 PM CPT, NIPSCO and CRA will host an Information Session for prospective bidders as part of NIPSCO’s Second IRP Stakeholder Advisory Meeting. The Information Session will be conducted via WebEx. The RFP Information Session is anticipated to be presented during the second half of the IRP Information Session. Instructions for participating in the Information Session may be found at the RFP website, www.nipsco-rfp.com
