The North American Energy Markets Association is pleased to announce this Request for Proposals for our members The Energy Authority and Nebraska Public Power District.
Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) is Nebraska’s largest electric utility, serving all or parts of 84 of Nebraska’s 93 counties. NPPD supplies the total wholesale power requirements of 38 municipalities and 23 public power districts and cooperatives. NPPD also serves 79 retail entities.
The Energy Authority is administering this RFP on behalf of NPPD to assist in meeting load growth expectations in its service territory beginning June 1, 2026. Products must meet the requirements for accreditation and dispatch as defined by the SPP Open Access Transmission Tariff, Integrated Marketplace Protocols, and Planning Criteria. NPPD must have the ability to procure firm SPP network transmission service from the generator resource(s) to NPPD’s load or utilize deliverable capacity.
